Iman
Islamic Weekend School is an Islamic school that
caters to a large 2nd generation Muslim
American student body. The subjects taught are
Arabic language arts ( Reading, writing, grammar,
comprehension), Islamic Studies and the Holy Quran.
-
We strive
to help our students excel in their studies. We base
our Islamic Studies curriculum on the Holy Quran and
the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Mohammed ( Peace and
blessings be upon him).
-
We have
just adapted a new curriculum, the ICO I Learn
Arabic series, that is best suited for our students.
It employs modern methods of teaching foreign
language to successfully teach the Arabic language
to students in K-12th grade. This series was founded
upon the following three fundamentals of teaching
languages presented in an Islamic context:
-
Elements: sounds, letters, phrases, and
pronunciation
-
Skills: reading, writing, speaking, and
listening
-
Linguistic Functions: introduction, greetings,
description, requests, and apologies.
-
We also
switched our Quran and Islamic studies curriculum to
help better prepare our students to become better
Muslims: I Love My Religion is a wonderful series
that understands the needs of students in North
America.
-
Iman
Islamic school includes students from grades
kindergarten to 6th grade, boys and
girls.
-
The
