At the Iman Islamic Complex our main
focal point is to get our children involved with
community involvement and participation with the
intention to sway them away from trouble. We want to encourage
our youth and form an affiliation with Masjid's management
organization and participate in community activities. This is currently our #1 priority.
Insha-Allah, the
Organization would continue to be a continuous effort to
help conserve resources, indulge in collaborations with
other Masjids, and escalate the possibilities of da3wah
through sports and other fun activities.
We currently have the following
Committees ready to serve the Community:

Outreach Committee
Purpose and Vision
Statement
Our Purpose is to establish two main
objectives. First, to provide Dawah materials in the
form of: books, tapes, CDs and other multimedia
resources. In addition, we provide local media and
community contacts to ultimately clarify misconceptions
regarding Islam and Muslims with: on-site tours,
classes, open houses. Secondly, we provide continuity
for our new Shahada’s, as such we have a very proactive
process of educating and involving any new Muslims into
our community.
The Vision of our center is to become the minaret of
Islam in the west. As such our activities are driven by
our objective of reaching out to our neighbors and
dispelling the myths and misconceptions surrounding
Islam today.
Da'wah-Outreach
Activities
1) Open House
The Islamic Center of Irving hosts our
Neighbors, co-workers, and friends quarterly with "open
houses". A scheduled event that is made available to our
community at large involves: A tour of facility, brief
introduction to faith and culture of Muslims, followed
by Refreshments, Q & A, and socializing. With the
expressed intent of offering our guests the opportunity
to hear the authentic message of Islam, from Muslims
directly.
2) Ansaar Program
In Islamic history the early Muslims
migrated from Mecca to a town in the north, Madinah. The
people of Madinah were known as the "Ansar" and were
very generous, loving, and inclusive of their new
brothers and sisters who joined them in Madianah. The
Ansar in true brotherhood gave support and assistance to
the New comers, in that tradition we offer our Ansaar
Program to channel the Community Efforts toward the
Integration of All New Muslims.
3) Prison Dawaa:
We coordinate the prison Dawaa program
with Masjid Dix in Dearborn, MI. Currently the two
committees of the respective centers are planning for
future sessions. The Dawaa group hosts an Annual Ramadan
Iftar for the Muslim prisoners.
4) Faith Based
Outreach-Dawaa:
The Dawah team does visitation to
Churches & other faiths to deliver lectures, social, and
community relations are a big part of the experience for
all involved.
5) Targeted
Audience:
Our main focus is the City of
Hamtramck-Detroit and our immediate neighbors. We are
blessed to receive many out of town guests from passers
by at Detroit-Metro Airport, as well as many visitor
from smaller communities where Islamic Centers are not
fully established.
6) Outreaching to
the Local Community:
Various informatory lectures on Islam
will be given to the local Hamtramck City Council, Fire
and Police Departments.
7) Seminar :
Conduct the seminars by inviting
scholars on Dawah and Outreach. These experts help
facilitate consistent delivery of the message of Islam.
8) Classes:
Islam 101 classes started for New
Muslims, delivered weekly by our Imam and other
knowledgeable brothers and sisters: Sundays at 12-2.
These classes are for all levels of new Convert-Muslims
from: one day to 30 years in the faith. A great time to
learn, share, ask questions. These classes will focus on
strengthening the fundamentals of Islam for these newly
reverted Muslims.
Discover Islam for non-Muslim guests to learn about the
basics of Islam delivered weekly. There are classes
weekly for our non-Muslim friends on Sunday's at 6PM.
These classes are repeated each week and are open to the
public. Lead by the Outreach volunteers and Imam.
